The Imperial Plaza is an iconic building, one of Toronto's  outstanding architectural treasures, it will remain so for generations to come.  Built with great steel bones and welded frame construction, "this was a  structure that was built to last forever," concludes Rod Rowbotham of  Onespace Unlimited, the architect in charge of the makeover who is thrilled for  the opportunity to work on such a signature building from an era when modern  design was approaching its zenith.
 For the most part changes to the exterior of the new Imperial  Plaza will be minimal. Inside is where the true metamorphosis from office  building to luxury condominium will be most apparent. Extraordinary care will  be taken in the public spaces such as the grand entrance lobby, to ensure that  the fundamental integrity of the original design remains intact.
 
Downstairs is where the majority of  the building's amenities are located and it is no exaggeration to suggest that  this 20,000 square foot complex is nothing short of spectacular. Deemed the  Imperial Club, it encompasses the whole footprint of the building. For luxury even the ancient Romans  would envy, there is the Pool complex for relaxing and hanging out. Among its  features are a hot tub, swimming pool and his and her steam rooms. But it is in  the detailing of the space that will really impress. The ceiling of thepool picks up dappled light reflected  off the water below, giving one the illusion of a grand glass ceiling and  expansive sky beyond.
 The Imperial Club also includes a  10,000 square foot fitness facility with state-of-the-art cardio and circuit  training equipment and adjacent Aerobics Studio and Yoga/ Pilates Studio.  Rounding out the fabulous amenities are: two Screening Rooms, a Media Lounge,  Sound Studios for musicians, two Squash Courts with Viewing Gallery, a Golf  Simulator and a Multi-Purpose Games Room.   
Not far from Imperial Plaza is the  unique shopping district Forest Hill Village. Located on Spadina Road a few  blocks north of St. Clair Avenue, "the Village," as almost everyone  calls it, has small town charm along with a collection of cafes and spas, art  galleries and grocery stores. With private and public schools-Upper  Canada College for boys, The Bishop Strachan School for girls, and Forest Hill  Collegiate Institute and it's A-list churches and synagogues-Grace Church on  the Hill, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, Beth TzedecSynagogue and Holy Blossom Temple-the  neighbourhood has all the desired conveniences just a block or two from Imperial  Plaza.
 Yonge and St. Clair and the Deer Park  neighbourhood is the commercial crossroads of mid-town Toronto with many of the  city's best restaurants and stores (Didier, Cava, Terroni, Shoesette, Bruno's  for fine foods, Roots) and other attractions (the spectacular Summerhill LCBO  is just a few blocks away).
